With winter finally (technically) over, Tropicana Casino is wrapping up some promotions to make room for new spring offers. Tropicana (alongside its sister site Virgin Casino) often leads the New Jersey pack in promotional value, typically running several concurrent and overlapping events.
This weekend will see the tail end of the current batch, along with a few newbies, providing players with good reason to stay in and avoid the last vestiges of winter weather.
Playback offer: Reel Rush
Tropicana usually runs two main types of limited-time promotions alongside its ongoing permanent fare. The first of these takes the form of mitigated losses, with a chance to earn bonus Playback to offset a run of bad luck.
In this case the current version is titled Reel Rush, allowing players to unlock a 15% Playback bonus on their total net loss by wagering at least $50 on slots from the following list:
- Tiki Island
- Tiki Totems
- Secrets of the Phoenix
- Bubbly Wild
- Agatha Christie’s Mystery Wilds
- Queen of Winter Wins
- Queen of the Tree Folk
- Gaurdians of Fire & Ice
- Jin’s Jungle
- Sapphire Sorceress
Reel Rush is running from Friday the 23rd to Sunday the 25th. The maximum reward is only $50, but it’s nice to have the confidence that should you lose at least a little is coming back to you. On its own this promotion might not seem quite ideal enough to pursue, but the beauty of the Playback offer is that it overlaps with the second category of Tropicana promotions.
Sweepstakes offer: Spring AC Getaway
On any given day Tropicana usually is running a sweepstakes or two, in which players can earn a chance at a prize for normal play. Entries are earned for every $50 wagered on any game, up to five entries a day.
This week the sweepstakes is the Spring AC Getaway. The top five winners chosen will be rewarded with a two-night stay at the newly renovated brick-and-mortar Tropicana in Atlantic City, as well as $200 in slot money and $200 in restaurant credit. An additional 89 players will win varying amounts of bonus money, ranging from $20 to $250.
The Spring AC Getaway also runs until Sunday the 25th, though participation was a bit more optimized earlier in the week when it was available alongside Tropicana’s weekday sweepstakes, the Spring Share. That promotion, which was open until Thursday, offered players a chance at a potentially massive share of extra Trop Points (which can be exchanged for bonus play money) for the same $50 an entry.
Luckily, it does appear that a new promo centered around loyalty points is about to hit. From March 26th through March 28 the site will be hosting the plainly titled Trop Points Bonus promo, in which players that wager $15 on 90 Ball Bingo, $40 on slots, or $100 on any other game will earn 10 Trop Points, as opposed to the usual 1 point. The earnings are capped at 10,000 extra points, which is the equivalent of $100 in cash.
Any time offers
Like any good online casino, Tropicana runs several other standard ongoing promotions such as the welcome package for new players ($10 no-deposit and $100 cash back on losses with promo code NJOG), referral bonuses, and the regular Trop Points system. Among these, two in particular are worthy of attention for established players.
Daily free games
Tropicana offers two free games for players to take advantage of once a day, Tiki’s Catch of the Day and Search for the Phoenix. Both these games allow you to accrue chances for a bonus prize payout at the end of the month.
There is no immediate reward and the odds aren’t particularly great, but it’s a free chance at a prize so there is no reason not to try each game when you first log in for the day.
The progressive jackpot slot machine at Tropicana Casino – the exclusive Lewis Carroll-themed Wonderland – works fundamentally the same as every other progressive slot at New Jersey online casino, but it’s worth noting that at the moment the jackpot has swelled to more than $95,000.
This is particularly high for the game, although last year an extremely lucky player cashed in on a jackpot nearly double that. Still, as progressive games become more valuable to play as the jackpot grows, this is an ideal time to try the beautifully designed Wonderland.
Overall, as Tropicana offers go, this isn’t the most optimized weekend to increase one’s level of play. However, since it is expected to be the last weekend of very dismal weather, a chance to win a short vacation to Atlantic City does have a great deal of appeal.
Unless one of the games on the eligible list happens to already be one of your favorites, it may prove more advantageous to focus play on Wonderland instead of shooting to maximize the Playback bonus, at least until someone hits the jackpot.
Otherwise, Tropicana’s next collection of promotional offers is set to begin on Monday.
