The Meadowlands Racetrack owner who was denied a casino license by voters last Fall says there’s no need to put the measure on the ballot again right away.
In fact, Jeff Gural told the East Coast Gaming Congress at Harrah’s Resort this week the state should wait until casinos open in southern New York before considering casinos in North Jersey again.

Trump Administration Weighs in on NJ Sports Betting Battle
The Trump administration has weighed in on New Jersey’s battle to legalize sports betting in the state, and it isn’t good news.
According to acting Solicitor General Jeffrey B. Wall, New Jersey doesn’t have a case. In fact, Wall issued a 24-page brief claiming the state’s effort to get around the federal ban on sports betting by repealing laws prohibiting it is the same thing as enacting laws authorizing it – neither of which is legal.
Borgata Upgrades Loyalty Program
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced this week it is ditching its current loyalty program My Borgata Rewards in favor of MGM’s award-winning M life Rewards loyalty program. The switch will happen June 7.
Borgata players will now be able to receive and redeem rewards at 17 MGM resort destinations, including the Bellagio, ARIA, Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
New Jersey Assembly Backs DFS Bill
The New Jersey Assembly has voted to approve legislation to regulate and tax daily fantasy sports.
The legislation passed by a vote of 56-15 Monday. The state will impose a 10.5 percent gross revenue tax on daily fantasy sports providers if the bill becomes law.
