The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has released a list of Atlantic City Jackpot wins $75,000 and over up to December 1, 2016, featuring five massive online wins booked in New Jersey so far this year. The DGE verifies all jackpots $75,000 and over and releases statistics on the first of each month.
According to the report, the year started out strong for New Jersey residents and visitors when one player hit an $80,000 cash spin on 888 Casino on January 6. Of course, this was just a few days removed from when a 50-year-old woman from Kendall Park, New Jersey won the $3,084,922.63 progressive jackpot on a $4 spin at the Wheel of Fortune slot machine inside the now defunct Trump Taj Mahal Casino. At the time, officials claimed this was the largest Atlantic City jackpot won in more than three years and it has held up as the biggest jackpot win, live or online, so far this year.
Featuring five reels, 100 paylines and a progressive jackpot, this Alice in Wonderland themed slot has proved to be one of the most player-lucrative games in New Jersey online gambling history. According to sources at Tropicana, “Wonderland” was responsible for another six-figure yet-unconfirmed payout this month.
Tropicana also reported a West Milford, New Jersey woman won a $66,295.92 progressive jackpot playing the Wonderland slot game this Spring, just missing the $75,000 and over list. Lisa Y. booked the win on March 17, incredibly less than two years from the day she won $85,191.81 on the same Wonderland online slot at Tropicana Casino.
“I’ve seen lucky players and I’ve seen lucky slots, but Lisa and Wonderland are clearly a winning combination,” Tropicana Atlantic City Casino & Resort GM Steve Callender said at the time. “This double win is proof that luck can strike multiple times when you play with Tropicana.”
Pala Books the Big Win of the Year in NJ Online Gambling
The month of October saw a Union County, New Jersey woman book a massive $195,880 jackpot win on Pala Casino. The win has yet to be reported on the DGE Atlantic City Jackpots $75,000 and over list, but appears to be the biggest in NJ online casinos so far this year.
The Union County woman has always considered gorillas and monkeys her good luck charms and won the Pala Casino record jackpot playing the online slot Gorilla Go Wild.
“The Gorilla Go Wild game been really good to me,” she told PalaCasino.com staff. “Earlier this year this game gave me another payout of around $40,000. This one was the best payout yet. Actually in my room I have two little stuffed monkeys and they were right next to me when I hit the jackpot. I have always liked gorillas and monkeys.”
The woman added that she was going to use the cash to renovate her home, move in her parents and help the whole family.
“It is something we are really looking forward to,” she said. “It doesn’t only change my life it will change several people’s lives. My parents are still in disbelief.”
More Big Wins
A few weeks later, the second of only two million dollar Atlantic City jackpots so far this year was recorded when the Wheel of Fortune slot at Harrah’s casino was hit for $1,518,022.06.
Of course, online players in New Jersey are no strangers to seven-figure scores either. In 2015, a New Jersey player at Betfair Casino booked a $1.5 million payday at Betfair Casino’s Let it Ride tables. This remains the largest win in New Jersey online gambling history, just outpacing the $1.3 million won by Morris Plains, New Jersey resident Cathy Ruella while playing online slots at HarrahsCasino.com in November 2014.
Tropicana Casino was hit again for the fifth and final online jackpot on the the DGE Atlantic City Jackpots $75,000 and over list so far this year. On October 29, their Quick Hit Platinum slot paid out a $75,010.00 jackpot to one lucky New Jersey resident or visitor.
With statistics for the month of December still to come, there’s still a chance to make it to the 2016 $75,000 and over list before the end of the year.
