London-based Gaming Realms, the firm that currently owns the innovative Slingo™ line of games, has reached its first business-to-business licensing deals to bring its proprietary game library to the regulated New Jersey online casino market. As per the company’s official press release regarding the matter, Resorts Digital Gaming, Caesars Interactive Entertainment and Pala Interactive are the first three operators to partner with the company, which will supply the licensees with the games from its own remote game server. The games are currently scheduled to go live sometime in May.
Notably, Gaming Realms already has an existing business relationship with Pala Interactive that dates back to 2016, when it introduced its 90-Ball Bingo game through PalaBingoUSA.com. As per their official website, Gaming Realms licenses its intellectual property, including its game content, “globally across multiple gaming and merchandise categories including lotteries, gaming machines, social slots and casual game web portals.”
What is Slingo?
In July of 2015, Gaming Realms acquired RealNetworks’ Slingo™ and Social Casino business for $10 million in cash and approximately $8 million in a combination of cash and company stock. The concept combines aspects of both slots and bingo and is available in both single-player and multi-player formats.
Slingo™ debuted in 1996 as a free game offering on America Online and has been adapted to multiple platforms over the years, including land-based slot machines, as a stand-alone computer game on CD-ROM, hand-held devices, social media channels, a smartphone app and even a scratch-off lottery game. A variety of versions of the game that slightly differed from one another were developed for the CD-ROM editions, including Mixed Matrix Slingo™, Duel Slingo™, Giant Slingo™ and Super Squares Slingo™.
