If you’re a fan of Mike White, this past Sunday was a true tour de force.

First, he went out and dismantled the Bears in his first start of the year, injecting life into what had become a comatose Jets offense. Then, some five hours later, he delivered a whopper of an episode of White Lotus. I mean, that last scene is going to stay with me for a while. Yowza.

Honestly, I can’t wait to see what White has in store this week against the Vikings and in the penultimate episode of … oh … wait. What? Different Mike Whites? Ah. That actually makes sense.

Nonetheless, this Sunday is going to be a true test for both Whites. Can Mike 1 prove his game against the D-level Bears defense wasn’t a fluke? And can Mike 2 get us to a point where all everyone is talking about is the upcoming Season Two finale?

While we’ll have to wait for odds on the latter, America’s sportsbooks have reached a consensus on the former, and …

Well, QB White has some proving to do, as the Jets are coming in as 3-point underdogs against the Vikings, with the best price being -107 at (as usual) PointsBet. Considering the game is in Minnesota, and the Vikes are 9-2, those three points might be surprising to some. Feels like it should be more, but here we are: the road Jets, with a third-string quarterback, only 3-point dogs.

On the moneyline front, the Jets can be had for +140 at bet365, and the over/under is set at a middling 44.5, with the over -105 at FanDuel.

Matchup favors Jets?

On the field, this game actually sets up as quite a battle, with the feature attraction being all-world wide receiver Justin Jefferson going up against all-world cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner — who, by the way, is a -300 favorite at BetMGM to take home Rookie Defensive Player of the Year honors.

While Jefferson can explode at any time against anyone, it’s equally possible that Sauce smothers him. And the Jets’ defense as a whole is about as dominant as they come – ranked fourth overall in Football Outsiders’ DVOA metric, coming in fifth against the pass and sixth against the rush.

So if the Jets’ defense continues to do its job, can the offense repeat what happened last week? It might. The Vikings are 23rd in DVOA, and 27th against the pass.

With that in mind, a hard look at the Jets’ passing offense props is probably worth the time. White’s yardage prop can be had for as low as 240.5/-115 at Tipico and as high as 245.5 at BetRivers, with the over at -114. (Always be line shopping.)

As for White’s receiving options, Garrett Wilson sure does seem to be the alpha here, and his yardage prop can be had for as low as 59.5/-115 at Tipico. His over/under on receptions is 4.5, with the over juiced to -145 at BetMGM. Wilson, who scored twice last week, also has his anytime touchdown prop set at +200 at bet365.

Another interesting anytime touchdown bet is for Zonovan Knight, who “might” be the Jets featured back this week. His anytime number has been set all the way down at +155 at bet365.
