The new year is bringing new management to Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Casino, with the state’s second largest casino by revenue announcing the hire of a new president and general manager.

George Goldoff was named president of the casino and Mike Sampson the general manager, according to an Associated Press report. Both are expected to start in the coming weeks, provided they pass muster with state gaming regulators.

Goldoff is currently the president of Hard Rock Cincinnati and was formerly president and CEO of PURE Canadian Gaming, according to the article.

“I’m confident George will continue to build on the incredible success we have achieved at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City,” Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International, said in the AP’s report. “In just three years of rebranding our property in Cincinnati, he was able to make that casino the leader in the market and I have every reason to believe he will lead our Atlantic City team into the next era with great success.”

Hard Rock Casino, located in what was originally the Trump Taj Mahal, is routinely the second biggest revenue-generating casino in the state, trailing perennial number one Borgata.
