A new regulatory compliance consultancy firm is making a splash with the hiring of a prominent former New Jersey regulator.
Odds On Compliance, founded earlier this year as EDF Compliance, has brought aboard Eric Weiss as its vice president of technical compliance. Weiss recently retired from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, where he served as chief of staff and deputy executive director for technical services, and he brings more than 30 years of relevant experience to his new role.
“I am delighted to officially unveil Odds On Compliance as the new name for EDF Compliance and to welcome Eric Weiss to the Odds On team,” company founder Eric Frank announced this week. “Eric adds unrivaled U.S. regulatory and market knowledge to our core group, enabling us to meet the broad range of needs of our clients. Our experience, knowledge and skills immediately position Odds On Compliance as the leading provider of regulatory compliance consultancy services in the sports betting, iGaming and gambling industries in the U.S. and worldwide.”
Frank added that his company is creating a software development arm to build unique compliance and regulatory information tools.
“There isn’t anyone in the industry with the combined knowledge Odds On Compliance brings to companies who need help navigating the ever-evolving world of sports betting compliance and regulatory environments, so the chance to join the team was one I could not turn down,” Weiss said.
The Jersey bounce
Franks told NJ Online Gambling that Weiss provides unparalleled expertise.
“Eric is so well respected in the industry,” Franks said. “He was a veteran at the DGE, he ran their slot lab, and he was the go-to for sports betting technical launches in New Jersey. The DGE is unique in the U.S., as they don’t rely on third-party labs. They do all their own game testing in-house — land-based and online, and software testing — and that has been under Eric’s leadership for a long time. I’ve already had some incredible feedback from the news that we’ve hired him.”
Meanwhile, Frank’s past experience includes a role as group compliance officer at The Stars Group. He is currently working as an advisor to a number of industry clients, acting on the advisory board of BettorFantasy, and working as a special advisor to Genius Sports on U.S. regulatory affairs.

Mignone’s experience includes working in quality assurance and technical compliance at GLI, and also at William Hill as the technical compliance manager for the eastern U.S.
