Taking advantage of casino rewards programs is an absolute must for gamblers of any sized bankroll. Not only can they significantly offset any losses suffered at the tables, but can also offer exclusive experiences not found anywhere else. On Tuesday, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced that it will upgrade its own current incentive program, My Borgata Rewards, to MGM’s award-winning M life Rewards loyalty program on June 7.
The incorporation of the old Borgata system into MGM’s network will allow patrons to receive and redeem rewards at 17 of its resort destinations, including the Bellagio, ARIA, Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
How it Works
Under M life Rewards, players will climb five tiers – Sapphire, Pearl, Gold, Platinum and the ultra-exclusive NOIR – by earning Tier Credits through playing slots, table games, poker or by betting sports.
Tier Credits determine a player’s level within the rewards hierarchy, which promises increasingly attractive rewards the higher one climbs. At the same time, players generate Points, which can be redeemed for Slot Dollars or Express Comps. Slot Dollars can be quickly cashed in directly at the slot machines and give players the chance to get back in the game and play with rewards instead of their own money.
Express Comps are another way to receive awards and can be used for entertainment, dining, hotel stays, spa visits, attractions and M life Moments. M life Moments are one-of-a-kind experiences which, in New Jersey, will include an ‘Ultimate Spa Day at The Water Club’, a ‘Winetasting with the Borgata Sommelier’, and an ‘Exclusive Lunch with Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’.
Online Gambling Rewards
BorgataCasino.com, which offers both online poker and online casino games in the state, employs a loyalty scheme called iRewards. The system works similarly to the coming M life Rewards program and consists of five loyalty tiers, each of which brings a higher level of perks.
Players can trade in their online points for Comp Dollars, which can be redeemed for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa amenities or for online bonuses or cash. It is unclear if the casino’s online rewards operation will be changed along with the new program, or continue to leverage the current system.
“The ability to offer our devoted customers a connection from Borgata to sister properties in Las Vegas and throughout the country is an invaluable asset and something that we are extremely eager to introduce,” said Borgata COO Tom Balance. “The timing couldn’t be more ideal, as MGM Resorts expands their presence into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast United States with the recent opening of the $1.4 billion MGM National Harbor in Maryland and the upcoming 2018 opening of MGM Springfield in Massachusetts.”
MGM acquired Boyd Gaming’s remaining stake in the Borgata in August 2016 in a $600 million transaction. The company owns dozens of casino and entertainment properties in locations throughout the globe.
